I’ve been receiving calls from several DI coaches attending Peach State Hoops Summer Kickoff. The 2011 trio of Phenix City’s Central standouts 6′3″ Kristi Mokube and 6′0″ Monique Jackson along with Ozark Carroll standout 6′0″ Tia Faleru all put on quite a show impressing several ACC and SEC schools. Needless to say the trio will have several offers forthcoming. Mokube playing mainly the three spot and Faleru playing multiple position. Both displayed a ton of athletism, hustle, enthusiam combined with scoring and rebounding from all angles. Jackons played superbly pounding the boards and justing beasting inside. The Blazer trio is definitely rising fast up several recruiting boards. Looking forward to seeing good things from the Blazer Big Three.

Mokube listed as a center is much much more than that. Mokube has an athletic build, handles like a guard, can defend well on the block or perimeter, good shot blocker, nice mid range jumper, finishes well in the paint, good rebounder and runs the floor like a leopard on the prowl. She needs to develop a 3pt shot and continue to develop her low post game. Look for her to play some point guard this summer as well. Mokube a transfer from Camden County, GA will definitely open a lot of eyes this summer. Mokube is a B student and plans on taking the ACT this summer. Mokube prevailed in a close race for #1 by beating out teammate 6′0″ Monique Jackson and Carver-Montgomery’s 6′1″ Shatavia Farris. Mokube has the total package and has only scratched the surface of her abilities. She truly has a huge upside with continued hard work and dedication Mokube will be a nice addition to any program. Mokube has drawn the interest of several SEC programs and I expect that interest to double by end of July.

Super Sophomore (Class of 2012) Jasmine Jones of the AL Southern Starz 15U (2012) team & 6A-Sparkman High School has been invited to participate in the USA Basketball Trials for the USA Women’s U17 FIBA World Championships National Team on June 8-11 at the US Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, CO. From the 30 players invited to the Trials, a 12-member team will be selected to compete in the FIBA U17 World Championships which will be held in France in July 2010. This is a tremendous honor for Jasmine and reflects the hard work she has put forth and the unlimited potential that she still possesses! The Spring/Summer exposure that Jasmine has experienced over the past several years resulted in Top College Coaches nominating her as 1 of only 30 players from across the nation to be invited to this very exclusive tryout.
